Chris and I are going into London tomorrow to visit the cats (yay, can't wait to see them) so I thought I would have a wee look online to see if there are any interesting art exhibitions on at the moment that we could maybe pop in to have a look at. (We probably won't have time but I like to see what's on just in case!!)

Anyway, I discovered that The Royal College of Art is holding it's annual graduate Sculpture show. The show features a sculpture called 'I Say, I Say, I Say' by a man called Gareth Williams. This is the sculpture.....

It is made from......wait for clippings off his own head and chewing gum!!! I have only one thing to say to that 'Eeeeewwwwwww'

  1. Definately eeeewwwwwww! What makes someone even think of doing something like that? Have a great time.x

  2. That is truly disgusting! But yey for the cats and for them coming home soon now x

  3. Barf...You can find 'art' like that under most bus seats, public benches etc...big smoothes for the spalts from the cats resident at Chez Aspie.

  4. What is it they say? Beauty is in the eye of.....
Of course, you're coming up to London just when I'm not there. Oh well. Maybe next time :-) Have fun!

  5. Now why is that art?
Have a good time in the big smoke and give the moggies a stroke from me :-)

  6. Eeuuuw too! If there are two things which make me shudder, it's hair no longer on the body and old gum. Euuuw.

    Have fun seeing your splats!:-)

  7. Oooh, I rather like that even if it is a bit eeeew at the same time. What does it say about me?

  8. Jeez, my eyes dropped on the picture, and my first thought was, whatever have they done to the cat, oh okay, I don't do morning's, I am particularly witless for an hour when I wake up.
The sculpture, It did not impress me .
Enjoy London, enjoy your cats, are we going shopping?.

  9. Now that's not art, that's taking the piss lol! I am still recovering from seeing Damien Hirst's formaldehyde sheep this week. That sculpture is totally minging. There, I said it.

  10. Yuck! Not my cup of tea at all.
Enjoy seeing your cats though, you must be missing them.

  11. How creative! And how many years did it take him to collect all his nail clippings? Fascinating...

  12. Debs - A warped mind :-). We had a lovely time seeing the cats but didn't have time to do anything else!!

Helen - It is isn't it!! Hmmmm, I wonder if it smells minty....

DJ - It's totally gross isn't it!! Still, it's got his name in the papers....any publicity is good publicity and all that!!

Sue - Yes, I can't say I was gutted that we didn't have time to go and see the exhibition...I'm not sure I would have wanted to see it up close!!

We'll have to arrange would be fab to meet you!!

Tam - I have no idea...I certainly wouldn't buy it and have it in my house!!!

They were all excited and was lovely!!

Lane - I know...and you imagine what would happen to it if it got warm...surely it would just collapse into a sticky hairy puddle!! (Ok, am completely grossing myself out now!!)

JJ - Erm, I'm not sure I should answer that question *chortle* ;-)

Ann - OMG your comment made me laugh!! I can see why you might have got that idea!! I don't know about you but I need copious amounts of tea in the morning before I can function!!

We didn't do any shopping or anything...we drove to London, saw the cats and then drove back home again.

Hulla - I do like art that challenges and makes you think but that dog sculpture just grossed me out!!

Pat - No, it doesn't do much for me either!! I can't get past the idea that it probably smells!!

It was wonderful seeing the splats...I'm just about to blog about it :-)

Ladyfi - It is creative but it's eeeewwww at the same time!! It wasn't nail clippings (I actually think that would have been worse!!) it was hair clippings *shudders*

    C x

  13. I have two oranges in the morning Carol, it is bad enough trying to get the segments of orange in my mouth instead of my nostrils, without trying to drink a cup of tea.

  14. Ann - Ah, that's where your going wrong!! A good caffeine kick is most definitely needed in the morning!!

    C x

I love getting comments so please leave one.
