Eeeeewwwwwww

Chris and I are going into London tomorrow to visit the cats (yay, can't wait to see them) so I thought I would have a wee look online to see if there are any interesting art exhibitions on at the moment that we could maybe pop in to have a look at. (We probably won't have time but I like to see what's on just in case!!)

Anyway, I discovered that The Royal College of Art is holding it's annual graduate Sculpture show. The show features a sculpture called 'I Say, I Say, I Say' by a man called Gareth Williams. This is the sculpture.....

It is made from......wait for it......hair clippings off his own head and chewing gum!!! I have only one thing to say to that 'Eeeeewwwwwww'

  11. How creative! And how many years did it take him to collect all his nail clippings? Fascinating...

  12. Debs - A warped mind :-). We had a lovely time seeing the cats but didn't have time to do anything else!!

Helen - It is isn't it!! Hmmmm, I wonder if it smells minty....

DJ - It's totally gross isn't it!! Still, it's got his name in the papers....any publicity is good publicity and all that!!

Sue - Yes, I can't say I was gutted that we didn't have time to go and see the exhibition...I'm not sure I would have wanted to see it up close!!

We'll have to arrange something....it would be fab to meet you!!

Tam - I have no idea...I certainly wouldn't buy it and have it in my house!!!

They were all excited and purry...it was lovely!!

Lane - I know...and you imagine what would happen to it if it got warm...surely it would just collapse into a sticky hairy puddle!! (Ok, am completely grossing myself out now!!)

JJ - Erm, I'm not sure I should answer that question *chortle* ;-)

Ann - OMG your comment made me laugh!! I can see why you might have got that idea!! I don't know about you but I need copious amounts of tea in the morning before I can function!!

We didn't do any shopping or anything...we drove to London, saw the cats and then drove back home again.

Hulla - I do like art that challenges and makes you think but that dog sculpture just grossed me out!!

Pat - No, it doesn't do much for me either!! I can't get past the idea that it probably smells!!

It was wonderful seeing the splats...I'm just about to blog about it :-)

Ladyfi - It is creative but it's eeeewwww at the same time!! It wasn't nail clippings (I actually think that would have been worse!!) it was hair clippings *shudders*

  13. I have two oranges in the morning Carol, it is bad enough trying to get the segments of orange in my mouth instead of my nostrils, without trying to drink a cup of tea.
