New Painting (For sale)

I know that a number of you have been following my (erm, rather slow) progress on Facebook and have been cheering me on from the sidelines so here is the finished article....

(It's been done using gold leaf and acrylic paint and you can click on the photographs to enlarge it)

  2. Jen - Erm, hold on and I'll measure it....it's 9 by 11 inches. Now I've mastered the technique of applying the gold leaf I'm going to scale it up and work on a bigger one :-))

  8. Queenie - I thought I would try putting the flowers round the edges just see whether it would work. I'm quite pleased witht the result...did toy with the idea of putting the gold leaf round the side too but decided that it might be a bit too much!

Talli - *blushes* that's a lovely thing to say! I have to be honest and say that I'm not always pleased with the outcome of my efforts (Some of them do end up in the grey metal filing cabinet...also known as a bin!) but I'm pleased with this one!

Jennifer - I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination but I do love pottering with paint. It's an added bonus that I sometimes manage to make a wee bit of money from my hobby. (If you do ever want a painting just give me a shout..I would be honoured to do something for you :-))

Lindy Lou - I'm not too worried whether it sells or not...I quite like it so wouldn't be heartbroken about keeping it :-)

Lady Fi - Awwww, thank you for being so lovely about it!!

  17. Nicky - I have to be honest and tell you that the first one I tried ended up in the bin!! I kinda stubled across the technique I ended up using...give it a go...I bet you'll be able to create something fab!!

Helen - Thank you honey, that's a lovely thing to say :-)

Sea Blue Sky - I always find it really interesting that people get so many different things when they look at the same picture. I'm glad you like it :-)

Previously (very) lost in France - LOL!!

Ayak - I'm glad you like it hon :-)

Sue - I'm trying to lose weight so I'm thinking that if I sell it then I can use the money to buy some new clothes so I'm focussing on that! (and Tom has promised to come along with me to help me choose!)

Boonsong - The idea for it came from all the gold leaf paintings I saw when we were in Thailand. I'm totally thrilled that everyone seems to like it :-).

TALON - I ended up with gold leaf on me, on the floor, on the cat and I was lucky and managed to get a bit on my painting too :-).

  19. I like the decoration at the bottom - reminds me of those glass paperweights. And gold leaf too - often thought about using that. Must paint next week in Wales

  20. Sand dollars, sea anemones and star fish--the flowers talk of the sea. Oh, it's gorgeous! Talented creature, you are. You'll hate to part with it I'm sure.

    Well done, YOU! :-)

Mark - I'm sure anything you create with gold leaf would be absolutely sublime!! I love your artwork!

Mel - Both you and Leslie (Sea Blue Sky) think the flowers speak of the sea :-).

*whispers* I'm going to do a big one for me but don't tell anyone!

Jane - Awww, you have so much more faith in me than I do!! I have a photograph of it and think of you everytime I see it...I also think of you every time I look at the photo book you made for me (Still can't get over the photo of the bums!!). Miss you loads and can't wait to see you in September. Lots of love right back at ya xxxx
